Costapp uses essential cookies and similar technology for sign-in, security, billing and remembering that you have seen this notice. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We use cookieless, first-party statistical measurement to understand website and trial use.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on a device by a website. They can keep a session secure, remember a preference or help a service work. Browser storage, including local storage, performs a similar function and is covered by this policy.
2. Essential sign-in and security
ChatGPT/OpenAI and our hosting infrastructure may use session, authentication, load-balancing and security cookies so that you can sign in, remain authenticated, reach the correct service and protect Costapp from misuse. These are essential to the service. Their duration is controlled by the relevant provider and may be limited to the session or kept for a security or sign-in period.
3. Cookie-notice preference
After you select “Got it” on our essential-cookie notice, Costapp saves a small preference called costapp-essential-cookie-notice-v1 in your browser’s local storage. It records only that the notice has been acknowledged. It remains until you clear site data from your browser.
4. Stripe billing
If you open Stripe’s hosted checkout or billing portal, Stripe may set cookies that are essential for payment processing, fraud prevention, security and the operation of its service. Those cookies are controlled by Stripe and are described in Stripe’s own cookie and privacy information.
5. Privacy-protected website measurement
Costapp records limited first-party events such as a page view, video play, free-trial click, trial registration, signed-in visit, project creation and subscription conversion. We also record a referring website host and campaign tags included in a link, such as utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign. We do not record passwords, form contents or project information for this purpose.
This measurement does not set an analytics cookie or analytics browser-storage identifier. Our server creates a one-way visitor key from limited request information, immediately discards the source information and rotates the key daily. It cannot be used by Costapp to follow a person across other websites. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected.
6. Your controls
You can delete or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Blocking essential technologies may prevent sign-in, billing or other parts of Costapp from working correctly. You can enable Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in a compatible browser to stop Costapp’s website-measurement event from being stored. Because Costapp does not currently use non-essential analytics or advertising cookies, the on-screen notice is informational rather than a consent request.
